Shanghai is the world's 4th tallest city

shanghaitowers.jpg Shanghai made it to 4th place in Forbes' list of the world's tallest cities with a total of 21 towers climbing over 700 feet. The current tallest is the Shanghai World Financial Center, at 1,614 feet, but it'll be surpassed by the Shanghai Tower, which is expected to be completed in 2014 and reach heights of 2,000 feet. It was beat out by Dubai, Hong Kong and, at number one, New York City.

Hope Shanghai fills up the tall buildings. Poor Dubai is now in a serious bubble burst, with unfinished and empty skyscrapers, testament to the stupidity of the big dreaming Maktoums. At least, you understand the rationale of Shanghai, New York and Hong Kong building tall because of land scarcity. But Dubai, with the empty Emirati desrt, shud built the tallest skscrapers? Pure insanity!

That article used a subjective measure that favored New York City, by counting buildings, instead of measuring height. According to Ultrapolis Project, http://ultrapolisproject.com/ultrapolis_world_tallest_skylines_cities.htm
Shanghai is now the 3rd tallest city, with New York in 4th place.
