you are too dumb to realize china's economy was the first to fall and will be first to rebound. not to mention enviable 9% gdp in 2008, ISM published on monday show a rise to 35 from 32 at bottom in December and stock market gained a 25% since then. in 1-2 year, china will, to your frustration, re-emerge as leading economic power, while you will still worry of your debt in your broken car on your old highway across rotten bridges or in dark nyc subway that only reminds me of coal mine.

Something to consider...is it possible the man disagreed with Wen's statement that only 8 million jobs had been lost in China, since Chen Xiwen had said a day earlier that the figure was 20 million? That's a big difference; if the man has connections with China--worked there, has a Chinese wife, whatever--he might have been outraged at Wen painting a rosy picture. Economic issues are pretty fraught with emotion, after all.
