I don't see your point. US dams have the potential to cause earthquakes too. Nobody denies this which is one reason why geological studies are carried out in the first place. Meanwhile, an article in the SCMP today talks about a new resettlement programme for people in Chongqing who live near the Three Gorges Dam. One of the reasons is precisely earthquakes.

This is because China does not put up with BS! LOL. Many US dams are also built near faultlines, for Chrissakes!

The money sentence is this one:
"Researchers have been cut off from obtaining any more seismological and geological data."

If, as BBC1 suggests, this is all just a misty conspiracy theory, then there should be no reason for the government to be opposed to simple scientific research. After all, if the government is correct, that research would show that the water didn't cause the earthquake, right? The government's blanket opposition is just unscientific.

The conspiracy theory is HAARP, but this sounds more plausible. Anyone know if the three-gorge dam is built near a fault line?

Yeah sure! And the CIA blew up the world trade centers too, with aircraft remotely controlled to crash into them.

We will probably never know the truth. Now the theater begins: Deny, deny, deny, and block anyone from actually finding out the real reason. Same as it ever was...
