The bong photo scandal was unfortunate, but for everything that has happened, I think his sincere apology demonstrates that Phelps has a lot of class and maturity.
Silly that he should apologize at all for what he does in his own time. Unfortunate indeed.
If he had been passed out on the couch with an empty bottle he would have been "just a young man having fun" but he was blazing up instead. With the exception of wine, alcohol is far more toxic with fewer health benefits.
