Miley Cyrus sued over "chink-eye" photo for $4 billion

Some woman in Southern California was so upset by Miley Cyrus' “chink-eye” pose that she decided to file a class action suit... for $4 billion. Because that's the number of Asian Pacific Islanders who live in L.A. County (a little more than 1 million) times the minimum damages for a civil rights violation ($4000 USD - about 27,340 yuan).

Lucie J. Kim filed the suit because Miley “knew or should have known that her image would be publicly disseminated via the media, which Cyrus knew focused on her private life, specifically TMZ.”

Okay. While the Shanghaiist and its commentators might have disagreed on certain finer points of just how racist Miley Cyrus actually was for slanting her eyes, can we all band together and call this woman an idiot? We think that maybe filing a frivolous lawsuit with no basis in any real law (really, check up what a real civil rights violation is) in reaction to one photo does more damage to the image of Asian American people in the U.S. than any stupid teen pop star's off-record shenanigans.

If you did feel like protesting, why not go the route of funny lady Margaret Cho, who penned a song over the matter?
