Edison Chen films first video since sex scandal: testimony in Canadian court
Disgraced Hong Kong pop star Edison Chen, whose naked photos were leaked to the Internet last year, will be making his first appearance since February 2008 - in a Canadian courtroom.
Chen will be filming videotaped testimony for an upcoming trial in China of Sze Ho-Chun, the computer technician that allegedly released his private photos to the web. Chen has said that he will not return to Hong Kong for the trial, which will be in April.
The episode, in which over 1000 photos - some containing female celebrities in compromised position - were leaked, is described as the equivalent of 9/11 in the Hong Kong entertainment industry. According to the South China Morning Post, the pictures were viewed around 20 million times a day at the height of the scandal.
In the end, Edison Chen, the star of the Infernal Affairs (无间道) series and an upcoming movie called Sniper (神枪手），quit showbiz. He has been hiding out in Canada since.
