The raging fire at the CCTV complex in Beijing earlier this month is all the, uh, rage among the fashionable kids today. The day after the fire, a t-shirt dealer came up with new designs based on the incident and is selling them on the Ray.Wow.
The t-shirts rather morbidly - yet artistically - display a sketched black tower with a cloud of gray smoke and shooting red flames, along with the date of the fire. Another shirt bears the well-meant Chinglish message: "Family Life LOVE: Braveman China FIREFIGHTER."
The corporatization of the disaster has apparently been well-received by web readers and buyers, despite a small amount of criticism raised by some readers of Beijing Youth Daily.
At this pace, it looks like China is well on its way to building an American-grade industry out of national disasters.

Those looks kind of similar to the shirts that came out after 9-11. Not quite the same tone, though.
