This 17 minute long video, detailing the 14-day whirlwind tour made by 13 civil servants from Zhaoqing, Guangdong, on a government-funded 'study tour' of South Africa, Turkey, Egypt and Dubai in 2007 has resulted in the sacking of Tan Rigui, deputy party secretary of Duanzhou district. The group visited gold mines and splurged on African diamonds, toured Capetown's Table Mountain, visited ostrich farms, seal preservation zones and penguin beaches, saw the Pyramids and the Sphinx, rode jeeps in the desert, made a pilgrimage to Istanbul's Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, observed belly dance performances and shook their booties with models on the catwalk before rounding up their trip with a stay at the super luxurious seven-star hotel Burj Al-Arab in Dubai. The total cost of this power packed 'study trip'? RMB450,000, and now these officials — whose faces are clearly seen in the video together with their official titles — will have to pay every single cent back to the government.
Chinese netizens have been going on rampage lately with their 'human flesh search engines' digging the dirt on corrupt government officials. Their efforts have led to the sacking of the Shenzhen official who forced an 11 year old girl into a toilet, a Wenzhou delegation that lived it up on a Las Vegas 'study trip', and a Zhejiang government auditor who spent RMB7,126 on massage, among others.

A err friend of mine works for a company where all-expenses paid trips to the country of the contractor are written into the contract.
This friend tells me that the Chinese guys show up the office, have their photo taken in front of the sign, then go on a 10 day field trip of the UK.
