The Midi Festival is usually held only in Beijing
If you had plans to go traveling for the May Labor Holiday, you ought to think about canceling them now. Midi Festival, China’s longest running music extravaganza could be hitting Shanghai.
Usually held in Beijing, Midi has been struggling to get permission to set up in Haidian Park and had considered returning to the school campus where it all began. Rumours of a Shanghai version have been circulating recently but it’s still unclear if the two days of live music planned for Shanghai’s Sculpture Space on May 1st and 2nd will be a replacement or an addition to the capital’s festival but according to the event’s Facebook page, we can expect
“There will be 40+ bands, multiple stages, 15 international bands (UK, USA, Norway, Spain), international and local DJs, and some of China’s biggest rock bands.”
