The live music selection may be amazing this weekend, but it's not the only thing going on! Today also marks the beginning of two super special events and if you're a fan of sexy things or literary things (or sexy literary things), you've got great reason to be psyched.
Friday Today marks the opening of the Seventh Shanghai International Literary Festival, which is hosting a mix of writers from around the world to read to you, teach you, and inspire you!
Opening cocktails are at 7pm, but if you want to get into the literary mood beforehand, Marina Lewcka will talk about becoming a published writer at 57 (4pm) and Laura Pugno, author of Sirene will be reading selections of poetry set to a backdrop of Elio Mazzacane's beautiful photographs.
Saturday Young readers get to learn tricks of the trade from Ridley Pearson, co-writer of the award-winning series Peter and the Starcatchers, Frances Wood, curator of the Chinese collections at the British Library will be detailing the rich history of Western writers writing from the East, and Atlantic Monthly national correspondent James Fallows will share fresh observations on contemporary China.
Sunday Graham Earnshaw, of Tales of Old Shanghai fame, will be spilling the secrets of guerrilla publishing tactics, Nicole Mones will whet your appetite with pieces from her latest novel, The Last Chinese Chef, and Stella Dong - long-time chronicler of this city - will talk of the three Shanghai's she's come to know.

That's right kids (over the age of 18), the sex expo (or as we like to call it, the SEXPO) is finally in town again! From Today to Sunday, get down with perverts, nymphos and run-of-the-mill pleasure-seekers at one of the world's biggest sex product exhibitions.
What you can expect: whips, paddles, clamps, lubes, flavored condoms, funny posters, man-thongs (Thank God! We haven't found good ones since Xiang Yang market shut down), vibes, bondage wear, bondage gear, dirty DVDs, fishnet body suits and much, much more!
