Beijing clinic offering stem cell therapy to youthen your face

stemcellbeauty.jpg A Beijing clinic has apparently skipped all the controversy surrounding using stem cells and jumped right to marketing it as a way to rejuvenate your face.

The RNL Puhua Plastic and Cosmetic Medical Center, a partner of the Beijing Tian Tan Puhua Hospital, is marketing a Korean treatment by RNL-Bio - the same group that also offers people the ability to clone their pets.

While Beijing Tian Tan helps last-hope Parkinson's and spinal cord injury patients, RNL's focus is more on things like tummy tucks and breast augmentation.

For about $4000, patients go through a process where fat cells removed from their abdomens are turned into a crop of stem cells. The stem cells are then injected into their faces to plump out skin and erase wrinkles. It sounds like an opposite liposuction. It also sounds like suspiciously iffy science.

Apparently, it's pretty popular. According to the previous marketing director, people are allegedly flocking to the center for a chance to have their own fat needled into their faces.
