While China lags behind the rest of the world in launching it's 3G service, ChinaTechNews.com have reported from an inside source that China Mobile is already gearing up for a 4G service to be ready by World Expo in 2010.
Officially defined as an mobile internet service that can reach download speeds of 100MB per second, the TD-LTE standard is said to be able to reach that speed and 50MB per second upload speeds.
Now all we need is someone to design a phone that can support World of Warcraft to make use of that lightning speed. Perhaps that what HTC are planning to do with the US$8 million they just invested into their Shanghai plant.

Can you please report some interesting/relevant news?
It's like every other story in Shanghaiist is about these damn 3G 4G mobile phones. I have a Nokia 5210 and couldn't give a shit! Surely I am not alone! (with the sentiment.... pretty sure I am alone in owning a 5210).
i count one 3G/4G related story on the entire front page.
Oh hang on.. it's a network is it? Alright.. still sick of hearing about it. There's much better news to hear about.
Because 3G-only phones are cheap and do it all. Sony Ericsson's only waterproof phone, for instance, is 3G-only. So is Panasonic's. I have a cheap NEC phone that I got for 200 kuai that has a massive color screen, music player, all that jazz- but it's 3G-only so it won't work until the network goes online.
I also been dreaming for a phone that I could play wow, you know for me to grind wow gold and talk to my guild mates while I'm in school ;P
