I think it is really interesting to see these conflicting reports. I definitely think that is a sign that no one outside of the country really knows what is going on there, and I don't trust the sources coming out of China or Tibet reporting on the story. This video features sources from all around the world talking about the Dalai Lama's accusation of calling Tibet 'hell on earth'- http://tinyurl.com/aey9gw. They have a quote from a state-run media outlet saying Tibetans are happy, but all the rest comment on the oppression of the Tibetan people. There are so many contradictory reports, how do we decide what is true?

if China were a small country, Dalie Lama would have prevailed in his agenda with support from those gullible and ignorant westerners who know little about Tibet and think they are the saver and angel of this world. Dalie Lama is opportunist. He always counts on western support. Western support would work very well to coerce a small country like Yugoslavia. but unfortunately that's not the case for China. Being used as a pawn is not a good feeling for everyone

And Xinhua and the rest of the chinese propaganda machine should stop rehashing the same tired "facts" about tibet and try presenting some real arguments. oh wait...they don't have any.

The Dolly Lama should stop making false allegations unless he can offer some solid proof. And he can't. The Dolly made a similar but false allegation to Le Monde during the Olympics when he was meeting Sarko's wife, saying Chinese security forces killed hundreds of Tibetans in Kham. He later had to retract his statements. No wonder China will not talk to a buffoon like him.
