At the Barbie Shop: Entrance to a world of feminine mystique

barbiestair.JPG

We finally went to have a look at the Barbie flagship megastore on Huaihai Road over the weekend in an attempt to sidestep the first week rush. What stood out to us most: This rather... suggestive... escalator. We hardly knew where we would end up if we entered.

It turns out that the only thing this promising entrance leads to is the third floor shop. While we weren't expecting something ultra-yonic at the end of the tunnel, we were disappointed that what awaited us wasn't a little more interesting than plastic toys.

"Disclaimer: Please don't Come inside."

Good call on the "suggestive" nature of this thing. While the style of this entry point is strangely fascinating, I imagine that most men (and even most women) are not looking to get quite as immersed into feminine mystique as this escalator suggests.

Stairway to Heaven would be preferred.

"Yonic". Now that is a word worth knowing.
