St. Patrick's Day Debauchery: A Guide

Shanghai's no Dublin, but don't think you can get away with not seeing green tomorrow as the city's expats (and more adventurous Shangainese locals) get ready to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

While we can't tell you where you'll find your pot o' god at the end of the night, perhaps here's a few places you can get started:

Malone's
Why: Guiness and Kilkennys for 50rmb, green beer for 40 rmb, and live house music from 9 pm that supposedly will "get Irish." No cover.

O'Malley's Irish Pub
Why: Special St. Patrick's menu, 2 Carbombs for 50rmb, door gifts and giveaways, plus Irish Band Split Decision and Accordionist "Caladh" starting at 7 pm. No cover.
Where: O'Malley's Irish Pub, 42 Tao Jiang Lu, near Heng Shan Lu.

Window's
Why: DJ Desert Fuck Eagle playing music from Stiff Little Fingers, The Replacements, Sebadoh, and GWAR. No cover.
Where: 3F, 681 Huaihai Zhong Lu, near Sinan Lu.

The Bulldog
Why: Live music, green beer, buy-one-get-one-free specials for Guiness, Kilkenny, and Jameson, "typical Irish food," and free drinks for ladies between 6 pm and 12 am. No cover.
Where: The Bulldog, 1 Wulumuqi Nan Lu, near Hengshan Lu.

Shanghai Studio
Why: Free entrance and "special drinks" for those dressed in green, plus a free drink if you can prove you're Irish. Cover TBA.
Where: Shanghai Studio, No. 4, 1950 Huahai Zhong Lu, near Xingguo Lu.

I Love Shanghai
Why: Free green beer and green cocktails for ladies from 8 pm to 1 am, a free green shot with every drink purchase for men dressed in green. No cover.
Where: I Love Shanghai, 2-3/F, 1788 Xinzha Lu near Jiaozhou Lu.
