Calling all contestants for the Cut&Paste Digital Design Tournament

Calling all debonair designers with a flair for competition - this is the last week you can enter the Shanghai-based chapter of Cut&Paste, a contest for digital artists interested in showing off their artistic chops under pressure.

Some say they got Shanghaied like it’s a bad thing. We know better.

A riot of flavors and colors, rural scenery and metropolitan trade, Shanghai is a handshake between deeply rooted traditions and newfangled ways of culture and commerce. Temples and skyscrapers coexist, and the city hangs on to a touch of antiquity as it strikes an increasingly modern pose. China’s largest city and an emblem of the country’s ever-expanding status in world, Shanghai has emerged as a new center of international design. Cut&Paste descends on its attention-getting skyline this year, with high expectations as the tournament prepares to get Shanghaied.

To become a contestant, you need to submit an entry with a link to an online portfolio before April 10. After the Call for Competitors closes, Cut&Paste will review the entries and, based on the quality of the work, invite the top contenders to Test Rounds (held on April 18 and April 19).

Winners will get super artist bragging rights, as well as super artist tools like a Wacom Cintiq 12WX, Audodesk Softimage, Maya Complete, or 3ds Max - depending on which of the three competitions is entered.
