The East West Theater's ninth full-length theater production, Waiting for Godot, is running April 22 through April 26, and we don't know if we can wait that long to see it. Past acts by the EWT have been pretty successful, so we're excited to see what they'll do with an international cast and Samuel Beckett's absurdist two-act play.
This will be the nonprofit theater group's first time using Chinese subtitles, which they included as part of their effort to integrate Chinese and Western culture in Shanghai.
Artistic Director Jonathan Geenen has promised us that an EWT play "is just as intelligent as a book and it only takes as long as a movie."
In case you want to brush up on Waiting for Godot while you're waiting for Waiting for Godot, reading the Wikipedia page will probably take about as long as watching the theater production as well.
