Shanghai band The Honeys (甜蜜的孩子) win honors at Music Radio China awards

the_honeys.jpg Over the weekend, China National Radio hosted their annual awards ceremony, which seeks to recognize Chinese-language singers.

The MusicRadio China Top Music Chart Awards featured established stars and several up-and-comers from both the China mainland and "Other" (Other meaning Hong Kong, Taiwan, and any other place that might have someone singing Canto-/Mando-pop). Unsurprisingly, Jay Chou and Eason Chen both got awards - "best selling" and "most recognized by the media" respectively.

Excitingly for our city, Shanghai-based band The Honeys (甜蜜的孩子) was also on the list of winners, scoring the title of best domestic band. Congratulations, guys!

Other mainland acts winning accolades included Wang Zheng (王筝) for best female artist, Xu Wei (许巍) for best male artist, and boy band group BOBO for most popular group.

Just for good measure, here's the video is of BOBO singing a medley of China's most popular songs. Because we all needed to hear "Beijing Beijing! Wo Ai Beijing!" one last time.
