Screening: Up from the Underground on May 9

up-from-the-underground.jpg If you haven't gotten enough of Hard Queen, after our interview, their new EP and the awesome release party at YYT, then make sure you catch the May 9 screening of Daedalum Films' Hard Queen documentary, Up from the Underground.

The short film follows the Shanghainese band in its journey from modest origins to the release of a debut EP, Holiday. Along the way, the doc profiles Hard Queen's three band members and looks at what it means to make it as an independent group in China.

Daedalum Films has produced some great stuff in the past, so we're excited to see what they've done with peppy, playful and notoriously fun Hard Queen...

Doors open at 8 pm, with a 9:30 screening of the doc and a live performance by Hard Queen at 10 pm. Giveaways by eno clothing all night and there will be some free wine and beer.

Tickets are 88RMB and you can buy them online here, or pick them up at:
