Cinco de Mayo Madness: A guide

Happy Cinco de Mayo Shanghai! In a city that doesn't really have a lot of Mexicans, we sure have plenty of ways of celebrating their commemoration day of a battle they won against France! And even the swine flu isn't dampening our spirits (nor should it, now that Mexico says it's feeling better and we've stopped trapping its citizens in quarantine here just because they happen to hold Mexican passports). Places you could hit up tonight include:

Zapata's
Why: All you can eat Tacos plus all you can eat Coronas from 7pm to 10pm for 200RMB. Plus, ten tequila shots are 100RMB. Sounds like a head ache right out of Spring Break!

Cantina Agave
Why: 6 hours of free flow Margaritas, Sol & Corona beers, and red and white wine for 200RMB. Also on the menu - live bands, salsa and special Cantina Agave Latin snacks.

Adobo Latin Flavor
Why: All you can drink (you sensing a theme here?) beer, margaritas and tequila plus all you can eat tacos for 188RMB.

Studio 78
Why: Half price Mexican food between 6pm to 12pm. Corona beer buy 6 get one free. And 20RMB margaritas and 15RMB tequila shots. Plus, it's on Tong Ren Lu, for that extra “I spent a night in Tijuana and I think I'm going to be sick” feeling.

Bulldog Shanghai
Why: We're not sure why a British pub has one of the better deals in town, but we're not one to question cheap food or alcohol! All you can eat taco buffet between 6 to 9PM costs 50RMB. Plus, ladies get free drinks until midnight.
