Shops: New Stüssy flagship store

American streetwear label Stüssy, famous for its "fresh gear" hip hop-inspired looks, opened their first Chinese flagship store recently on Shaanxi Nan Lu, near Changle Lu. The place is so new that its location has yet to be added to the Stüssy website.

The surf / skatewear clothes fit in well with the other street-style shops in the Changle / Xinle Lu area (Vans, eno and the like). Prices are similar to other high-end places around town with heavy selvaged denim jeans around 1100RMB, and t-shirts for 258RMB.

The store has some Shanghai-exclusive designs- although we feel they've missed a trick by not selling the awesome Chinese-style dressing room shoes, embroidered with the Stussy logo. Now that's a real east-west collaboration.

When we called in at the weekend, the place still seemed to be being built (which could have been why it was only one floor). But the staff assured us - over the noise of the hammering - that they are fully open for business.
