Shaanxi real estate developer throws tenants to the dogs... literally!

We've heard of some barking mad methods to throw renters out on the street, but this particular incident is really boneheaded. A developer in Taiyuan, the capital of Shaanxi Province, unleashed dogs on its tenants and put some of them in a dog cage because they did not move out of their house on time.

According to Xinhua, the tenant, surnamed Zhang, had been informed to move out of his house by April 21, but had waved the eviction notice aside. Then, on May 11, he received a visit from the “House Cleaning Department” of Yin Jian Real Estate Zhong Lv Inc. The eighteen or so men came at Zhang and his family with dogs, iron sticks, baseball bats and fire extinguishers.

Zhang's cousin, Wang, was taken away, beaten and locked inside a dog cage. He suffered fractures to his collarbone. Zhang's wife was seriously injured by dog bites to her legs and arms. Zhang received a nose wound from being hit in the face.

At 9 in the morning, the district police station received an emergency 110 call and immediately went to the crime scene to investigate. Simultaneously, six police stations in other districts around Taiyuan began looking for Zhang's cousins, who had been taken away by the “House Cleaning Department.” They quickly rounded up the 18 criminals involved in the brutal incident.

The police discovered that the main suspect, Xu Changling, had been accepted to lead the “House Cleaning Department” of Yin Jian Real Estate in mid-April. He collected several unemployed people from Taiyuan, Xinzhou and Shandong, and led his first “house cleaning” activity on Zhang's family. Xu, a 49-year-old living in the city, had been previously sentenced to a rehabilitation center in 1978 for robbery.

While he and his cohorts were rounded up and arrested, it seems like the real estate company has gotten off scot-free. Maybe it's just us, but we think that brand of justice is for the dogs.
