Über chic design, trends and lifestyle magazine Wallpaper put a unique twist to the definition of "Made in China" for its special June issue which shines the spotlight on everything, yes, Chinese.
It went to the expense of relocating its entire editorial team from London to two pop-up offices in Beijing and Shanghai for a month in a bid to fully immerse in the chain-smoking pyjamas-clad local culture.
Wallpaper editor-in-chief Tony Chambers was quoted saying:
"Our China special has literally been Made in China. We produced the content there, looking out from the country, not just looking in. It was an adventure that very few magazines would be able to embark on, and the result is a truer, deeper take on the forces driving China forward. It's an issue our readers will devour."
Available in stores May 14, the issue promises the lowdown on emerging Chinese creatives as well as "the best of China's fashion, architecture, and design, and includes a directory of the hottest new Chinese architectural practices".

Looks like a great number! but where can I find it in shanghai?
Hi pasarq, try the usual suspects - Garden Books, Chaterhouse Booktrader or the top floor English magazines section of Shanghai Book City (No. 465 Fuzhou Lu, near Fujian Zhong Lu).
It's a great issue. Picked mine up at City Shop @ the Portman.
Interviewed lots of influential designers all around China. Especially interesting was the profile on Lyndon Neri and wife Rossana Hu owners of Neri & Hu, a well-known Shanghai-based design firm who are making their footprint not only in China but overseas as well. Definitely a great read!
