It's going to be an artsy rest of the week. Besides the busy weekend - where you can choose between going to the Antidote Electronic Music Festival or the Cut&Paste arts competition - there's a couple things to make sure your weekday nights are just as crazy.
Tonight
American pop-punk band MxPx is making Shanghai the first stop on its Asia tour! The three-man band has come a long way from its humble origins as a bunch of teenagers in Washington state back in the nineties. Since then, lead vocalist Mike Herrera, guitarist Tom Wisniewski, and drummer Yuri Ruley have produced eight albums, four EPs and, most recently, just came out with a new covers album. It's too bad this act is so expensive - we haven't seen anything go past the 200RMB mark for ZDF before.
To hear their sound and figure out if it's worth it, go to MxPx's website or myspace.

Thursday
If you can drag yourself back to the Dream Factory again on Thursday, it'll be worth it, cause Brooklyn electronic duo Ratatat is coming to town. Mike Stroud and Evan Mast have produced three full studio albums, all of them awesome, but you can listen yourself here. Support from Wuhan dance punk group AV Okubo and new-to-the-Shanghai-scene post-poppers The Youth and The Destroyer.

Friday
On Friday, we think the hottest art spot is the Seagull Lao KeLe exhibition. To reapproach China's vintage technology, twenty up and coming photographers created work with China's original old-school Seagull cameras to produce a funky, edgy exhibition. The cameras will also be on sale at Factory and there will be a free workshop to teach anyone who wants to how to use them. For more info, go here.
7:30 to 11:30 pm. Factory, 1933 Creative Complex 1st Floor, Building 4 29 Shajing Lu. No cover.
