That's right - people actually got SHOT in Shanghai, despite the country's incredibly strict laws on gun control! Two men are said to have received gunshot wounds in the Huili Garden apartment complex off Changshou Road in the Putuo District.
According to witnesses, about five youths were in a fight when some of them suddenly drew guns. One person was shot in the neck and has now been rushed to Shanghai Huadong Hospital. The other person who was shot ran off, fleeing in a white sedan with a license plate from Jiangsu. Shanghai police are now giving chase.
The picture, from Xinmin, shows the blood from one of the victims still on the ground.
But what we're most shocked about, perhaps naively, is that these people had guns in the first place. Who are they? There must've been some kind of guanxi involved! Our streets, which once only carried the dangers of getting hit by falling construction or run over by a crazy bus driver, now render us targets of mysterious angry gunmen! Whatever shall we do?!?*

Triad, Yakuza, Local HeiSiHui... It's one of those, and it's most likely a turf war. This does happen, but usually at night in huge, seedy clubs away from the PI.
