CNReviews has discovered what looks to be one of the first Carl’s Jr. to hit Shanghai. Snapped in Raffles City Mall near People’s Square was this very promising looking construction setup promising charbroiled goodness from 卡乐星 (ka le xing). The burgers in the ad look absolutely huge, though what burgers in ads don’t? When exactly will we get to see how closely they live up to the hype? We‘re not sure! They were supposed to have come by March this year already.

OK help a limey out- how does Carl's Jr differ from Burger King?
Carl's Jr. has tried to position themselves a little upmarket of BK by using ingredients that are recognizable as food.
In reality, you'll find that it is virtually indistinguishable. Criss cut fries aren't bad, though.
Finally, Carl's Jr. has a baffling yet awesome name.
since we're talking about fast food, has anyone heard any stories about the worm found inside a fried KFC chicken in shanghai? My local friends told me about it...but cant find any english articles about it.
F*** Carl's Jr fuck all but they alright.
"F*** Carl's Jr fuck all but they alright."
Well that's cleared that up for me.
You do get alot more veggies and sauce on a Carl's Jr and pretty much all patties are 1/4 lb.
there is also a regional aspect to it: CJrs is a more west coast thing, i think. lots in cali where i grew up, havent seen it much or at all in the east, in fact, probably only in western or so western states. part of the appeal is having something regional, like a sports team, to root for, though in reality they are no less corporate than burger king et al who are national in that generic, deracinated fashion the yare
It would be nice to see an east coast chain like Roy Rogers in China, with the do it yourself burger bar.
