- China ties make Macau good bet to beat Vegas [Reuters] "The world economy may be slumping, but don't tell that to Macau -- the former Portuguese colony which is set to trump Las Vegas heading out of the worst global downturn since the Great Depression. In the smoke-filled gambling halls of Macau's MGM Mirage casino, hundreds of Chinese gamblers were crammed around tables flipping cards, playing roulette and rolling dice on a recent day, seemingly unaffected by the slowdown."

- Michael Anti: enjoy Twitter in China while it lasts [Danwei] "On the topic of the Twitter service in China, Anti has a good deal to say, especially in terms of the somewhat flowering place that "Twitterland" had become in China, just like the golden age of the "blogosphere" of a couple of years ago. Especially as noted figures such as columnist Lian Yue and journalist Hu Yong are huge Twitterers themselves. Anti encourages subscription to his Twitter."
- Du Daozheng On The Zhao Ziyang Memoirs [ESWN] "The Chinese elder statesman Du Daozheng who helped Zhao Ziyang to leave behind oral memoirs will be publishing a statement in the June edition of Ming Pao Monthly magazine. He pointed out that the foreword and the title of the English edition
of Zhao's memoirs are inaccurate and also twists the original intent of Zhao. He also pointed out that the old comrades who had the tapes only delivered the tapes to the Zhao family and no one else. Everyone here in China seems to buy into this idea. I’ve been asked to kiss drunk Chinese girls for people’s cameras, been given random girl’s numbers, been brought to lewd shows where girls in nurse uniforms spread their legs for fat cigarette smoking businessmen, offered heterosexual sex for money, hit on by woman in internet bars etc etc. I’m really fed up with it all. If I could I would tell every person I know in this massive country that I am attracted to men not woman, but alas life is not that easy. The closet that Chinese society keeps gays in is usually locked tight, barely a glint of light coming in. My general rule is to keep my mouth shut until it seems it’s okay to say something."

I have come across Jonathan in China before. But as soon as I go to his site my antivirus pops us immediately saying a virus has been detected (trojan Exploit-IFrame.gen.c)Today was no exception. If someone knows him let him know. I would really like to read his blog, but I avoid it due to the Trojan.
I don't get it. The more I read Jonathan's blog the more stupid I think he is. He comes here complaining about the lack of gays in China. So why come to China you silly gay? Ever thought of looking outside China then you idiot. It's like a fat guy going into a salad bar and complaining about the lack of fries and burgers behind the counter.
Stupid man.
Move to a big city like Shanghai or Beijing, plenty of gay bars and no one gives a shit either.
