Edison Chen talks to CNN

EdisonChen.JPG Edison Chen has REALLY broken his silence this time around to appear on CNN's Talk Asia to chat about the sex scandal that ruined his life (though, perhaps, not for as long as the more schadenfraude-prone of us would like) and the lives of countless female starlets in Hong Kong.

Since we're assuming everybody already knows the story - and if you don't, here's a chance to catch up on our extensive Edison Chen coverage - we'll just give a smattering of some of the quotes:

"I believed I was a victim. I believed that I was hurt by this a lot... I knew that I had nothing to do with the spreading of these photos."

"I was afraid to go anywhere. I was travelling around when I was still in Hong Kong in trunks of taxis, literally, just to get to places... I had to be in the trunk for 15 minutes. I didn't even know if I had enough oxygen to be honest with you."

"Even when I had left Asia and I had went to Canada and America, it took me three months to really get out of the shell that I had put myself in. I mean, I was in darkness for five days"

"Everything was mutual. It was all consensual... If I have a camera in front of your face and there's a flash, do you know that I'm taking a photo of you? That's as simple as it is."

Okay... that last one sounded a little off to us. Perhaps we're missing something, but we thought a lot of those 1300 pictures were taken by webcam. Last time we checked, those macbook webcams didn't come with flash. Anyhow, you can see the full video of the interview on CNN's Talk Asia website.

You think they were taken with the Macbook's attached webcam? Have you seen the pictures? They were pretty, uh, up-close-and-personal. It's hard to believe anyone would be sticking a Macbook up there. I suppose it'd be possible for some of the shots, but would involve really strange body contortions. It strikes me as a lot more likely they were taken with a small camera and then copied to a Macbook.

Chan: I am innocent! My Weewee made me do it!

He has a valid point. These girls weren't secretly filmed, they had all agreed to it. And he wasn't intentionally distributing the photographs, they were stolen from him. He was stupid to not secure the pictures better, and the women were stupid to not make sure their nude pictures would be secured better, but really there's no reason to cast him as the villain and the women as victims.

Looks like the video has already been taken down by CNN...

Stop hating on the pimp. He is a pimp.

Stop hating on the pimp. He is a pimp.

Thank you Edison for reinventing pubes

I really hate edison... fxking small dick ... He said indefinite has no limit (it can be 5min or 2000years) and saying the asian journalist misunderstood... He is a victim well ... yea right....

I actually completely agree with the last quote. macbook or flash camera, those girls ALL looked fully aware, they were posing in most if not all of those pictures. first of all, why not say shame on all of them, especially gillian for pretending to be an innocent clean youthful celebrity when she isn't? at least cecilia was open and made sure her image was projected as a real one, so she fools around a little-big deal. he DIDN'T have anything to do with the pics going up, doesn't make it okay for him to be sleeping around and taking pictures but honestly, chinese people are so petty and close minded. I'm american born chinese and I find this all to be ridiculous that all the blame is being placed on edison chen rather than you all realizing those women SLEPT WITH HIM, WILLINGLY.
