Tuesday
Come to the Shanghaiist Happy Hour where musician Brian Seymour will again be performing an acoustic set of his original music. 2-for-1 specials on selected drinks means you'll get twice as happy in half the time.

Wednesday
It's Shanghai Movie Night! Shanghaiist has teamed up with the folks at ChinaSmack and CNReviews for a good old-fashioned movie date to see Transformers II: Revenge of the Fallen. Don't worry if you forgot to RSVP for a discounted ticket- you can still buy tickets at the theatre for 80 rmb.

For those not interested in watching robot-on-robot action, the Yale Whiffenpoofs will also be performing Wednesday night at Kathleen's 5. The a cappella group is on a 13-week tour raising money for the Whiffenpoofs Children’s Literary Initiative. Tickets are 150 rmb at the door; however, the joy that comes from saying "Whiffenpoofs" is priceless.

Thursday
Grab your nerdiest friends and head over to the Bulldog for their weekly quiz night. Drinks are buy one, get one- though with a 1000 rmb drink voucher on the line, you might want to hold off on the drinking/brain cell killing until afterwards.

Celebrate the summer solstice with the smooth sounds of Spanish guitarist Abraham Carmona and Austrian jazz vocalist Heidi Krenn. Supported by Carmona's band, the event will be an evening under the stars filled with music and dancing to Spanish/Latin/Jazz/Rock fusion featuring Carmona's original compositions.
