The Chinese are going crazy about the Camaro Bumblebee autobot from the movie Transformers. When the Bumblebee-esque 2010 Camaro SS came to town to celebrate the opening of Transformers 2, everyone wreaked havoc.
In the newest edition of the Transformers franchise, the autobot Bumblebee chooses the Camaro as its auto-body of choice. Main character Sam Witwicky, played by actor Shia LaBeouf, then gets it on his birthday, soon learning that it is muchmore than a beat up old car.
The vehicle has become a favorite amongst Shanghai Transformers fans, who took cars of all sorts, from Volkswagen Santanas to Chevrolet Cruzes and transformed them into makeshift Bumblebees.
If you want to show your Bumblebee fan stripes too (but perhaps don't own a car), join us tomorrow night along with Chinasmack and CNReviews to watch Transformers 2, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Yeah but GM ponied up for the first Transformers movie so all the cars became GM models. Didn't see the lovely Pontiac Aztek, though, maybe it's in the new one.
