If you're a Francophile looking for something a little more special (but maybe a little more low key than a six hour ladies' night) to do on Bastille Day, come to Cotton's on Xinhua Lu for our Shanghaiist Happy Hour. Craving a midweek jazz concert? Check out the Shanghai Concert Hall when the Klingston Trio graces their stage. Comprised of a cellist, guitarist, and saxophonist from Joseph Haydn Conservatory of Burgenland in Austria, expect an evening of classical, pop, blues and jazz fusion.

Interested in the environment and China's energy use? The folks at JUCCCE (Joint US-China Cooperation on Clean Energy) work with central and local government agencies to accelerate the greening of China with clean and efficient energy use. Hear behind-the-scenes stories from JUCCCE Chairperson and a Time Magazine Environmental Hero 2008, Peggy Liu, followed by an open forum discussion. Presented by Greenspace, drinks and light snacks will be provided.

For a mix of photography, jazz, and artsy Europeans, Kaiba, the Belgian Beer Bar, is hosting a photography exhibition opening by Frans Schellekens Fotografie. The exhibit, Jazz in Holland, features photos from the leading jazz events and venues in Holland in the '80s and '90s. The opening will feature drink specials and live music; the exhibition will last until August 18.
