And here we thought Shanghai Craigslist would never get as interesting as its New York version. In a recent posting entitled "Betraying ex' expensive stuff and life style in Shanghai for sale!" a scorned Chinese woman is trying to make some extra cash from a recent break-up:
I'm Chinese, female, living in Shanghai now. My ex, an American guy, betrayed me after I spent 2 years with him, moved from London to Shanghai, helped him settled down and started a comfortable life here. So I'm selling all his luxurious goods as below, to pay my bills
The goods listed include the standard electronics- computer, camera, Xbox 360 -as well as a guitar, a remote control helicopter, two red ear turtles, and a set of engagement and wedding rings. Even the apartment is being put up:
You may even move in this nice flat, RMB4500/month, near loushanguan lu Changning lu, very close to No.2 tube which I can't afford anymore and will move out in a month.
The poster doesn't list any selling prices, claiming she is "too upset to think straight." While we give kudos to the woman for moxie and not just moping about her heartbreak, we also can't help but be intrigued about the guy who caused all this and wonder if he realizes he's wandering around Shanghai now turtle-less.
