Crocodile in the subway

According to Netease, around 5am yesterday morning, a 1.5-meter long crocodile was found in the construction area of Subway Line 10, Dongfang Mall stop in the Yangpu district. Workers immediately called the police and, with the help of firemen, the croc was caught and carried away safely.

After examining its origins, experts discovered that this was an Estuarine Crocodile, the largest family of reptiles on earth. This kind of crocodile is very aggressive and can grow up to six or seven meters when matured.

The experts also noted that this Estuarine Crocodile was not actually local, since the species has long been thought to be extinct in Shanghai. They aren't sure how a non-local crocodile could have made its way into the subway, but they suspect that it is either from a local restaurant or a feed-lot.

At the present time, Shanghai Zoo has found a place for this animal, which belongs in the category of second-grade State protection (we guess this means "vulnerable" but not yet "endangered"). Whatever, as long as we don't see it in the subway again. If we wanted creepy scaled monsters to snap at our heels while we're underground waiting for mass transport, we'll go to New York.

This brings back memories of Pui Pui, the Hong Kong croc that evaded capture for months. They brought in a well renowned Aussie croc catcher and he couldn't catch it, frustrated for over a month and finally gave it up. Pui Pui was eventually caught by a couple of Guangdong men within days. LOL!

What's the reaction if you had seen this?
"Oh... is that a... AH! CROCODILE?"
or
"Eh. I've seen crazier things here."
or
"Aw! How cute!"
