What softball may look like
As is done every Fall, the Shanghai Softball League is getting ready for their second season of the year. This year, August 23 marks the beginning of an eleven-week race for the Cakey Cup, the league's championship trophy. It's currently sitting at the Boxing Cat Brewery.

Along with the Boxing Cat, local bars including the Big Bamboo, Malone's, the Long Bar and Oscar's Pub all field teams that compete with other squads representing Japanese, Taiwanese and Mainland corporations in town.

While the league is organized around softball, the atmosphere allows all players to define their own idea of recreation - some players bring their families to watch, others bring their beer coolers - and everyone comes to the fields each Sunday ready to have a good time.

If it sounds good to you, learn more on how to participate in the league by going to softballshanghai.com. More fans and players are always welcome.
