Looks like Shaq's not the only celebrity to get some Shaolin fever. Over the weekend, the venerable Kung Fu institution saw an influx of pretty ladies as the Miss Tourism Queen International competition high kicked their way into Henan.
The girls learned a couple of moves from the monks and watched some Shaolin show. There's not much more info on it, but hey - we're suckers for pictures of pageant queens in curious situations. Check out more pictures here.
Never heard of Miss Tourism Queen International? Neither had we until these pictures showed up. So we looked for it. According to the association's website:
Miss Tourism Queen International was founded by Mr. Charlie See. Since 1949, there have been more than 80 countries occasionally holding this competition for their Miss Tourism National Queen. In 1993, the Miss Tourism Queen International Organization held the first world final competition in Sri Lanka, and later in USA, Russia, Brazil, Germany, Japan, Singapore, and many other countries as well. Miss Tourism Queen International contests has been held in China for six years from 2004 to 2009...The China national contest of Miss Tourism Queen International 2009 Final was held in Qingyaun, China in April. With full support of the local government, local tourism department, and media across the country, Miss China Tourism Queen contest is recognized as the best among the beauty pageants in China.
