Danwei found this clip of one of the finalists for Super Girl (or, we guess, Happy Girls), Huang Ying (黄英), singing the "Father of Chinese Rock," Cui Jian's, famous anthem, Nothing to my Name (一无所有).
The song, when performed in 1986, became a great sensation amongst Chinese youth. In 1989, it was performed live at Tiananmen Square, with Cui Jian wearing a red blindfold to symbolize the oppressiveness of the CCP.
Following the crackdown, both on protesters and rock musicians, Cui Jian was banned from playing major venues in Beijing. That ban was finally lifted in 2000.

Cui Jian was not banned from playing major venues in Beijing until 2000.
He performed in March 1990 in Beijing Workers Stadium after marshal law was lifted Then he did a tour of Zhengzhou, Chengdu, Wuhan and Xian for a total 10 times in rest of the year.
In 1995 he also performed in Shanghai, a town our expats now hate to liver under CCP dictatorship.
Cui Jian might blindfol himself as protest to CCP but he loves China very much and hates his ex-yank-wife Ann Light very very much. :)
that sure doesn't look like a He to me, unless you are playing along with the androgenous theme already present in the Chinese SuperGirl subculture
