Yikes! Just when we thought we were past the hateful racism directed towards Lou Jing, another blatantly insensitive forum thread popped up on KDS. This time, a netizen caught a few pictures of a Black-Chinese couple on the metro, and posted them to the forum site for general amusement and jeering. ChinaSMACK has a translation of some of the posts, which range from mockable to just plain offensive.
A few choice comments (from chinaSmack):
- Is it not okay for others to like eating chocolate abalone?
- The photograph captures the point, NIGGA’s have great butts, this friend has good fortune
- Black girls can only be looked at from afar and not touched up close, PG [pi guo, 屁股, butt] covered with thick anal hair, terrible feeling, neither is it comfortable once you are doing it. Not much different with white girls also, though of course a bit better than black girls. To sum up, Asian MM are still better, with smooth butts, feels good
Given the insular nature of Chinese society, it's hard to imagine that these sort of posts will stop anytime soon. Race is a difficult issue to broach in a place as homogeneous as China, but it's becoming a pressing concern as the country opens up to foreigners from all over the world.
Sadly, the response from chinaSMACK readers is just as bad. Here are a couple comments from their writeup:
- It must be horrible living as a Chinese person, only and always caring about what other people think. Just when they think they are getting some kind of respect in their social group, they open up to world and realize they are just a little fish.
- I’d look down on white people too if they hadn’t accomplished so much but all black people ever invented was hip hop, purple drank and carjacking.
- chinese people are racists with small dicks. mistery solved.
It's disheartening to see these sort of reactions, and makes us wish that netizens could grow up a bit.

Unfortunately, looking for decency, decourum and respect for fellow people on the internet may pretty much be the modern tilting at windmills.
Whether KDS fenqing or Youtube troll or /b/tard doing it for the lulz, reading internet commentary will make you dumber.
