The menacingly-named Human Flesh Search Engine has made headlines around the world, but it remains largely misunderstood and its deeper implications unexplored. Daedalum Films examines the origins of this Chinese Internet phenomenon, dissects its most dramatic cases, and asks the question: "what can the Human Flesh Search Engine tell us about modern China?"

Week Around the Ists

Great video. It really shows the good and bad of human flesh searches. The future of it does scare me as mob mentality on the internet always does. Like 4chan or other online groups, it can attack with such verocity that sometime the truth may never be heard and an innocent person can lose a life or career. Hopefully scenes from those that were hurt will help, but I don't think it will enough from past experiences.
