This week's Adoptable Pet from Second Chance Animal Aid, Shanghaiist's favorite adopted animal charity.
Name: Jasper
Age: 3 1/2 years old
Health: Treated for fleas, mites and worms. Vaccinated and neutered.
Ideal Home: One with many people and children who can take advantage of my gentle personality and love for constant attention.
Story:
Jasper and his brother (Dexter) were left behind in Shanghai when their owners, who had raised them since they needed bottle feeding, moved to a country with incredibly strict pet import regulations. He and Dexter were eventually separated - Jasper, being a more "sensitive" type, got bossed around too much by his bigger and more aggressive older brother now that mom was gone. Though he was lonely at first, he's done well under the constant care and attention of his foster parent.
Jasper is a super affectionate cat - the perfect counterexample to those doubters who think that only dogs can shower you with unlimited and unconditional love. He loves getting belly rubs, being brushed, cuddling and talking and being talked to. He is also gentle to a fault, so he's perfect for families with kids.
See more pictures of Jasper here. For more information about adopting Jasper, please contact foster@scaashanghai.org, or come check them out this Sunday, September 20 at O'Malley's Irish Pub (42 Taojiang Lu, near Wulumuqi Lu 桃江路42号) from 12pm to 3pm.
