Looks like an alliterative week ahead as everyone slowly stumbles into work again from the holiday. Ease back into the 'Hai with these events- from Bollywood and Berlin to swing and classical- that will keep your spirits up and your diverse musical cravings satisfied.
Monday: Shanghai Shenhua, Sultans of Swing
It's Super League action time! Cheer on Shanghai Shenhua as they go up against Guangzhou Yiyao at the Hongkou football stadium. It's hard to believe, but games seldom sell out- so but don't pay more than 40 rmb a ticket no matter what any scalper says. A ticket office is located in a separate building to the right of the stadium next to the KFC.

Blues-rock cover band Sultans of Swing are celebrating 10 years of bluesing and rocking with a special concert at good ol' Yuyintang. If you haven't heard them play by now, there's no better night to check them out.

Tuesday: Merchants of Bollywood
If you're a fan of the high-energy shows of Bollywood, the Oriental Art Center is presenting "The Merchants of Bollywood" until October 7th. In this musical, a woman who is last in a line of ancient dancers takes over her grandfather's dance school, and must decide whether to follow her family traditions or teach in her own modern style.

Wednesday: Holiday in Berlin
Wanted to go away for the holiday but couldn't scrape up the cash? Head to Dada for a cheap alternative and pretend you're in Germany as Holle 64 play their famous Berlin house sets. Dada regular Ben Thriller throws down supporting beats and visuals from the 1927 German silent film, "Berlin: Symphony of a Great City".

Thursday: Vienna Cafe Film Night
If Dada puts you in a mood for all things Germanic, this week's showing at Vienna Cafe is Keinohrhasen, or "Rabbit Without Ears". The romantic comedy centers around Ludo, a womanizing tabloid reporter, and Anna, his old classmate who runs the daycare where Ludo must fulfill 300 hours of community service. German with English subtitles.

Longitude is giving the OK to wear white after Labor Day with their first annual White Party. Dress in the aforementioned color and receive free shots until 2 AM.

Asian-American Sandra Shen is a renowned classical pianist who has played in concert halls from New York to Germany to Beijing. For her performance at twocities, she'll be playing Rachmaninov's Piano Sonata No. 2 as well as other complex and impressive pieces. The event is free and no RSVP is required. That's right, world-class classical piano at no charge. Go.
