Not being very interested in physics beyond oohing and aahing at the Large Hadron Collider, there's not much we can say about this that hasn't already been said, so we'll keep our congratulations to Charles K. Kao for sharing a win for the 2009 Nobel Prize short. Kao may hold American and British citizenship, but as we've been told by numerous people in this country, you never stop being Chinese no matter where you go/where you're born. In this case, Kao was born in Shanghai. Which means that he won it for us.

---"you never stop being Chinese no matter where you go/where you're born"?
Nonsense Elaine. You'll never be called a Chinese even if you love China that much.
Down with science!
Revolution is coming! We shall de-evolve back to monkeys any day now. Bet on it.
I fail to see how Kao is winning it for "China" when he is a foreign citizen. Chinese often do better outside of China than inside. Chalk another one up for the trans-Atlantic twins, UK and US. China gets nothing, this guy would be plowing away on some stupid commie project at the CAS or Qinghua.
As for the Canadian Eileen, you are not "them" the Chinese. Hockey season is in pre-season and I know you are already checking in on how the team is doing. No matter how good your Chinese is, you sound like a Canadian to the locals.
Now go count your onsies and twosies.
