Halloween is Shanghaiist's favorite holiday, by far. And with the spooky season approaching, we spend a lot of time thinking about whether Chinese vampires are more zombie than vampire, the mortifying merits of American style haunted houses and, of course, our annual halloween party. And like always, we're going to hold it down like a rickety door during a zombie attack.
To start the night off right, Shanghaiist will kick it like Thriller with our very own Zombie walk, which should scare or at least confuse many a local. Then come celebrate with us at our new favorite venue, Not Me, which will be transformed into a mini city where Giant Robots and Dinosaurs (MNO Show) will take stage and perform some live electronic wizardry. We've even heard rumors that an impromptu Godzilla/Ultraman fight might occur, so make sure not to miss it. To top off the lineup, R3 will rock us up with his new live + Dj show and Baijiu Robot are up to their old tricks, which means the age old question of "trick or treat" will be a no-brainer. Like a zombie victim.
With all this talk of zombies, we might even get zombie Haibao to show up, so we better see you there- or you might end up dead (and resurrected as a zombie, in which case you'll probably end up there anyway).
