Is it just us, or does it seem like China's just blocking websites for fun now? Just when we thought that the National Day security crackdown had passed us by without (much) damage, we wake up today to find our favorite video sharing website that isn't blocked in China, Vimeo, is now...blocked. O, China, how will we find viral videos that aren't on Youku or Tudou now? At least you've got some good options for leaping over the GFW.

I wonder how all these Internet Web site bans and restrictions will affect China as a whole. Their economy? Their politics? Asia Chronicle News provides in-depth news analyses on various issues facing China. Their site is worth a read I think. www.asiachroniclenews.com
Just as a warning: Freedur is linked to because they give Shanghaiist money. They are shady fucks involved in internal lawsuits, filing corporations under assumed names, and credit card fraud.
No I have no association with any other internet service, I just followed Shanghaiist's shitty advice to get Freedur, got jilted, and don't think anybody else should be similarly duped.
censoring the internet isnt helping China becoming more westernized. So much talk about globalization, emerging world power, yet they wont even give access to foreign web sites?
