Besides the continuing Ink on the Run and Shanghai International Arts Festival, this weekend has a plethora of every music genre, art exhibitions, comedy shows, record release shows, charity wine tastings, and Oktober-festivities... and of course, live music. But we put our picks for those up already.
Friday: Bill Viola, B6's record release party, Charity Wine Tasting, Chopshticks Comedy Show, and Joachim Garraud.
Shanghai native producer B6 is releasing an album and series of singles with remixes in Europe, on Sweden's Substream/Clubstream Greeen Records. As a local celebration of this release before heading off for a European tour, B6 will play this night with Berlin-based producer Ralph Zuckermann.

Pratt & Whitney and The Library Project are hosting a Charity Wine Tasting at Mesa-Manifesto in Shanghai. They are raising funds for one very special elementary school's library donation located in the Anhui Province. There will be a variety of Italian wines, delicious finger food, great people, and some great prizes.

ChopSchticks Comedy Show is performing with Dennis Regan (appearances on The Tonight Show with David Letterman), and Ryan Conner will be opening.

Bar Rouge hosts French producer, remixer, label, and party impresario Joachim Garraud. This frequent David Guetta collaborator is known for a slew of high profile mixes (Bowie, Kylie Minogue, Culture Club) and for creating the "F**ck Me, I'm Famous" party.

Saturday: Oktoberfest at the Boxing Cat, "An Affair in the Forest," SCAA's Pre-Halloween munchie fest.
Celebrate Oktoberfest the Boxing Cat way with a live band, microbrews, and tasty German fare. Show up in your Lederhosen or Dirndl and get free beer. There will also be a contest for fastest beer chugger (with ¥500 gift certificate on the line), a 5-man beer drinking relay, a beer pong competition, and other frat drinking games.

"An Affair in the Forest" is a charity event, hoping to bring awareness to 350 International Day of Climate Action. The festive and philanthropic evening, which will take over the entire ground level of URBN hotel, will offer guests a chance to learn about climate change while enjoying a formal 3 course dining experience by RoomTwentyEight, musical performances by New York City jazz musician Steve Sweeting, a string quartet ensemble, and organic wine tasting by Globus Wines. ¥888 also includes 10 trees planted in Inner Mongolia in your honor.
