Photos: Shanghaiist Halloween Party 2009 ZOMBIE WALK

As with most things in Shanghai, the Zombie Walk started a little later than we had planned. Still, by around 8:45pm, a good crowd of 30 to 50 people had gathered at the corner of Tianping Lu and Hengshan Lu. After making sure everyone had gotten a little yellow bracelet to signify their zombie walking prowess (and to get them into Not Me for free), Shanghaiist Editor Elaine Chow, dressed as a videogame character, rallied the troops and commenced the walk.

One of the Zombie Walkers (which turned out to be Baijiu Robot dressed in a zombie tiger outfit) was prescient enough to bring a boom box so we'd have some tunes for the trip. And three of the more ghoulish members of our party took their performance to the next level, entering restaurants, banging bus windows, attacking (good naturedly) various passerbys. Thanks all of you, you made those two kilometers feel like just a couple of blocks.

We got to our final destination about half an hour after we started, sweaty and in desperate need of a drink. Good thing our final destination was a bar, eh?

Pictures of the party to come later.

We're always on the lookout for more pictures of the zombie walk, so if you have some, point us to your website. Here are some we found by Kirk Lau.
