If you’re tired of China blocking your hentai searches, interested in Japanese pop culture, or somewhere in between, you should check out Japanese artist Ryoko Suzuki’s first solo exhibition in China, titled ANIKORA, which opens this weekend at Andrew James Art Gallery. “Anikora” is a term used to describe a Japanese desire to see their favorite pop-stars and celebrities in nude poses. Gay Movie and a Drink hits Weihai Lu’s Cinema of Truth. This week’s Sunday show is “Coming Out Under Fire 《走出槍口》,” a 1994 documentary of homosexual men and women who served in the armed forces of the U.S. under World War II. These soldiers became swept up in anti-homosexual dragnets and entrapment schemes.
