Holy feats of engineering, Batman!

MAD architecture, known for their symmetry-allergic design, are responsible for some of China's more bizarre ongoing projects, among them, the potato-like Erdos Museum in Inner Mongolia and the Fake Hills in Beihai.

For this particular outing (to be built in Chongqing), MAD was inspired by mountain landscapes in traditional art. Each floor is layered slightly off center from a cylindrical core, and are all encased in glass. The floors are also interspersed with indoor gardens.

While we raise an eyebrow at the exact physics of the building (er...oak trees on the 28th floor balcony?), we must applaud the ambition, and the prospect of a precarious-looking addition to the Chongqing landscape.
