Shanghaiist lists all the live music performances you might want to check out from now until Sunday this week. For fun things that aren’t live music, take a peek at our Pencil This In that’s out every Monday!
But first we want to make a special mention: In the spirit of almost-Christmas, we want to promote the work of people singing Christmas-themed things. And this weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, the Shanghai International Festival Chorus is tackling Handel’s Messiah, an “emotionally charged piece of music where joy and anticipation, anguish and despair, and triumph and celebration combine to create an exhilarating musical experience.”
You can check it out at the Shanghai Community International School campus (1161 Hongqiao Lu near Yili Lu, 虹桥路1161号近伊利路) on December 12th at either 3pm or 7pm, and then again at the Shanghai American School Puxi campus (258 Jinfeng Lu, Zhudi Town, near Minbei Lu, 诸翟镇金丰路258号 近闵北路) on December 13th at 3pm. Tickets are 100RMB to 500RMB. Contact tickets (at) ifcshanghai (dot) org or call 150 2180 6064.
