Mickey's Gravedigging for Shanghai Disneyland

Disneyland has faced so many bumps in the road in its long and arduous quest to build a theme park in Shanghai, the latest of which have involved obtaining land for the theme park. First, farmers wanted compensation for demolishing their multiple houses, then the park shrunk exponentially in size, and now it looks like they'll have to uproot a couple graves in the process.

According to Shanghai Daily, around 1,200 graves will have to be moved in order to build Shanghai's Disneyland. Families will get 300 RMB per urn to find a new resting place for their ancestors, which is apparently a fair amount for moving a grave. 400 graves have already been excavated, but most of the moving will take place after the winter solstice, which is a popular day for burying and remembering the dead (that is, if you're not looking for discounted burials).

With all these setbacks, we're wondering why Disney decided to buy this plot of land, or why the government decided to sell farmland and graveyards to be turned into a theme park. Either way, it's bad karma for Mickey, but we wonder: will they build a Tower of Terror on the site?
