Netizens pissed over Avatar's removal

Unsurprisingly, it seems like a lot of people are pretty upset over the fact that Avatar 2D was kicked out of theaters to make room for Chow Yun Fat's new Confucius biopic. Even though the State censorship committee is making excuses like "Avatar 2D box office sales are declining" and "we didn't formally do anything to force Avatar off screens" (i.e. there's no proof), it looks like nobody believes them: In fact, some netizens were so angry that they're thinking of boycotting Confucius. Needless to say, that's not very Confucian of them, but since we're pretty annoyed ourselves, we're in support.

  • Netizens have far more crucial issues to be "pissed" about than the Chinese being deprived of some dubious form of entertainment--especially the mindless drivel that America produces. IMO, there's not much coming from the US (especially the entertainment industry) that anybody should lose sleep over.

You want something to to be pissed about? Ponder the recent US Supreme Court decision equating corporate rights with those of individual US citizens, the equation of corporate campaign contributions with free speech and madness of the methods that got us there.

Go ahead and boycott Confucius--it's your right. However, it's sadly appropriate in this age of dumbing down that some feel that an animated science fiction film is more important than a biopic about one of the greatest thinkers/philosophers in the history of mankind.

    --"some netizens were so angry"?

Since when the Chinese' anger is not mocked or laughed at? Only because "we're pretty annoyed ourselves"?

And we all know Chinese's anger is accepteable only when it is to government and Westerners will only be "annoyed" by no matter what.
